Honoring the complexity of being Hmong and American
“God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right.” Acts 10:34-35
Second-gen Hmong are uniquely Hmong and American. Their lives are marked by the complexities of straddling two different cultures that often have conflicting worldviews. The pressure is to choose one culture over the other, but RiverLife desires to acknowledge the influences and to celebrate the strengths of both cultures. We strive to reflect thoughtfully on ourselves, our values, and our cultures, and to examine them in light of biblical values.
