Trusting God with Your Finances: Slash-and-Burn Economics (Week 5)

  • Washington Tech Magnet School 1495 Rice St St Paul, MN, 55117 United States (map)

“Slash-and-Burn” is a farming technique used in Southeast Asia and South America that involves cutting down forests and vegetation to provide fertile farmland. It often produces bountiful harvests in the short-term but has devastating long-term ecological consequences. When it comes to money, it’s a good thing we would never opt for short-term benefits and ignore the long-term consequences. Except, that’s exactly what we do. It’s disastrous to our finances as well as to our faith. By focusing on the short-term, we lose out on a lot of the promises God gives in the Bible.
