Jeremy Garland, Children’s Ministry Director
Jeremy was born and raised in the small town of Jeannette, PA. At the age of eight, his parents received a call to do missionary work in Matamoros, Mexico, and they relocated to the southern border of Texas. From an early age, serving the kingdom of heaven was instilled in him as they served the Mexican people on short term mission’s trips.
Jeremy attended Crown College for three semesters, and fell in love with the people of Minnesota. He returned home to finish school at Texas State Technical College with an Associate’s degree in Game and Simulation Programming.
Jeremy served as a Ministry Assistant at First Baptist Church for several years, all the while volunteering in the children’s and youth ministries. Teaching and making disciples of children is a calling and passion for him. It wasn’t until he met his wife, Ashley, and they were married, that moving to Minnesota became a reality for them. In addition to serving at RiverLife, he volunteers with Envision Twin Cities to help spread the Gospel to Ethiopian and Somalian refugees.
In his free time, Jeremy loves to read a good book, play board game and video games, play basketball, or just relax with his wife while watching a movie. He is a friendly, fun loving guy who enjoys sharing his experience and relationship with Jesus.
Meet with him and he will share his life verse: “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.” 1 Peter 4:10-11
