Greg Rhodes, Pastor

< Return to The RiverLife Team

“I’m passionate about living an authentic, Christ-like life in the daily grind. There are some who specialize in vast, lofty thoughts of God. I’m not one of them. But I do have a unique ability to make complex ideas simple and to connect my faith to the here-and-now. My favorite part of ministry is communicating the Bible in clear and engaging ways and then letting God do the rest. My second favorite part is figuring out how to how to do something better or to understand something deeper; I am a voracious learner. My third is laughing a lot and enjoying the ride. Ok, maybe I switch #2 and #3 sometimes.”

Greg is a long-time youth ministry veteran, with nearly 20 years of experience working with teenagers and young adults. He graduated from Bethel Seminary with a Masters of Divinity in Youth Ministry, having received numerous awards including cum laude honors, scholarships in urban ministry, missions, and chaplaincy, and a Community Ministry Leadership Award. He is also a licensed pastor with the Chistian and Missionary Alliance.

Greg has earned widespread acceptance into the Hmong Christian community, having been invited to teach at numerous local and national Hmong youth retreats and conferences. Outside of ministry, Greg has worked as a high school math teacher and aquatics coach for five years and a web programmer for ten years. Greg has also completed four marathons and many triathlons, including a half-ironman distance race.

"We got married over 20 years ago. I had no idea what I was getting into."
