Why Church? How to Grow at RiverLife
Why do we go to church anyway? Do we really spend a few of our precious weekend hours just to say hi to friends, play sing-along, and listen to somebody talk for 30 minutes (if we’re lucky)? Is that all there is? What if going to church was much, much more than all that?
Here at RiverLife, we believe the church is here to help you grow—in your spiritual life, in your relationships, and in your emotional health. But how do we do that? Join us for this series as we explore why we go to church and how we can best grow there.
Plants grow best in sunlight. Waistlines grow best in bakeries. And people grow best in relationship with other people. That’s just the way God designed us. He never intended for any of us to live the Christian life alone. Join Pastor Greg to discover God’s incredible plan for growing you into a more mature person within this community called church. (9/4/16)
The purpose of being in a church community is so that God can grow you into a more mature person with a stronger faith. But what does it look like to grow at RiverLife? We’ve got four answers to that question—not from us but straight out of God’s plan for his followers. Join Pastor Greg & Intern Tommy Lor to learn the first two: ATTEND service more than you miss and CONNECT with others and God’s Word in a Life Group. (9/11/16)
The purpose of being a part of a church community is to grow. But what does that look like on a day-by-day, week-by-week basis? RiverLife has four big answers to that question. Last week, we learned about the first two: ATTEND more than you miss and CONNECT in a Life Group. This week, we’ll talk about the next two: SERVE on a ministry team and TELL others about God’s story and your story. (9/18/16)
Have you ever had a DTR (define the relationship) conversation with someone? It’s when you both sit down to discuss where the relationship is going. Well, it’s time for a DTR with church. What’s your relationship status with RiverLife? Are you casually dating? On-again, off-again? Committed? Yes, it’s time to sit down with Pastor Greg for that wonderfully awkward, uncomfortable conversation known as the DTR. (9/25/16)
